Perhaps it’s just bad timing, as some of our readers commented that most of the people are busy at the end of the year. Nevermind. We are still happy to have 4 submissions for the first ever WordPress theme mod competition.

1. Muy Bueno, by Sanid Jusic

- Based on Bueno from WooThemes.
- More styles & cufon fonts to choose from.
- Color pickers in theme option to create own style.
- Featured post and more posts in the 2 column layout.
- Random posts gallery in the footer.
- More widget areas.
- New widgets (About, Featured Video, Twitter).
- And more tiny changes.

2. JaNJI, by Denny Ch Pratama

- Based on Rockstar from WooThemes.
- Feedburner counter (automatically generated from FeedBurner ID).
- Auto-create TinyURL for Twitter share button.
- Custom meta description for every post/page.
- Fade effect for image post.
- Facebox effect for image post at single post.
- 5 new page templates (Full width, Archive page, Sitemap page, Timeline Page and Auto Redirect page with double meta refresh).
- Custom rel “nofollow” or “dofollow” for every images banner ads.

3. Pico, by Hafiz Rahman

- Based on Mimbo from Darren Hoyt.
- Smart post thumbnail handling (supports 2.9 Canonical Post thumbnail or use first image on post.
- 10 new widget areas (including four columns on footer)
- 3 new page templates (Archives, List Authors and Sitemap)
- New widget (Featured Categories)
- Breadcrumb navigation
- Support for threaded comments.
- Option to display the descriptions on the top category navigation by setting each category’s description on the Dashboard.
- Alt+Ctrl+G shows/hides the grid guide.

4. Introvert, by reLoaded Themes

- Based on Antisocial from WooThemes.
- Several typographical improvements.
- Added bunch of jQuery effects.
- A few bug fixes (for auto thumbnails).

    I had a feeling having a competition like this over the Xmas period would be a mistake.

    4 entries of such low quality doesn’t do this idea justice.

    I’m also quite shocked that no StudioPress themes made the cut.

    I wish the competitors well, but its a real shame this hasn’t took off.

    Its hard to choosing one of the great template here but I must made my choice, and it goes to number 2! It doesn’t mean the other template not good, but the number 2 is fit to me ;)
